Suspect Arrested in Pre-Christmas Theft

The Meridian Police Department has made an arrest in the theft of belongings from a Marine and his family before Christmas.

Sgt. Bobby Stone, his wife and children had stopped in Meridian to rest overnight before continuing to a holiday visit in Arkansas. Stone had recently returned from duty in Iraq.

Richard T. Seals, also known as "Honeycomb,” was arrested this weekend.

"In the early morning hours his truck and his trailer and all their belongings were stolen," said Lt. Dean Harper. "Shortly afterwards we were able to determine a suspect and issued warrants for him."

Seals faces charges of auto burglary and motor vehicle theft relating to the crime against the Stone family. He could be charged with other felony offenses as well, Harper said.
