It was a day of new beginnings at Choctaw County High School, the first day of school in the new year and the first day of school at a new facility.
Principal James Edwards, Jr. said reaction has been positive all around.
Gone are the days of leaky roofs, summer days without air conditioning and winter days without heat. Edwards said now the environment is more conducive to learning.
With 562 students, the school is unique in that it houses students from 7th through 12th grades.
The move from the old location was done over the Christmas break, although the new facility will not be entirely complete until the end of January.
