The Mississippi House and Senate adjourned Thursday and won't return until next week.
Lieutenant Governor Amy Tuck and House Speaker Tim Ford say negotiations will resume Monday on a compromise bill to protect business from large jury awards.
Both say lawmakers needed a break to be with their families and just relax.
The Legislature has been special session since Sept. 5.
The House will return to work at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Senate will reconvene at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
