Friday is the deadline for Alabama residents to register to vote in the Nov. 5 general election.
People who are at least 18 and have never registered or people who have moved may go to their county board of registrars or register at the driver's license office and department of human resources.
The deadline for applying for an absentee ballot for the general election is Oct. 31.
