IAM, Lockheed Have New Proposal

It's possible that striking Lockheed Martin employees could be back to work as early as Wednesday.

Representatives from Lockheed and the International Association of Machinists met this weekend and had what was described as "constructive dialogue."

A vote on a new proposal is scheduled for Tuesday between 12 Noon and 2:00 p.m. in Meridian. Marietta, Ga., and Clarksburg, West Va., will also vote.

If union members approve the new agreement, workers could be back at work Wednesday. The strike began Mar. 8.

Local 2386 president Janice Jenkins could not comment on specifics, but said things "look positive."
