The University of West Alabama has extended the contract for its president.
Dr. Richard Holland, UWA's first alumnus to serve as president, has just over 18 months left on his current four-year contract.
The board voted earlier this week to extend it by three years, leaving Holland at the helm until at least September 2009.
The board also changed its charter for members to serve six-year rather than 12-year terms and be limited to only two terms on the Board of Trustees.
The changes must be ratified by the Alabama Legislature before they take effect.
