Representatives from lending institutions attended a home buyers fair sponsored by Meridian Housing Authority and Multi-County Community Service Agency.
Its aim was to provide information to people wanting to buy a house.
There could be resources available for people who don't think they qualify for a loan.
"A lot of individuals are discouraged from home ownership, a home purchase," said Louis Sutton, director of community and supportive services with the Meridian Housing Authority. "They think they're not credit worthy or they don't make enough money, and what we want to let them know there are programs to help them with their credit rating and understand their credit rating and what steps they need to take to improve it."
To find out more about the program, you may call Ann Bigelow at MCCSA in Meridian, (601) 483-4838.
