The Mississippi Supreme Court has delayed until at least Dec. 5 a decision on whether to hear the appeal of convicted murderer Christopher Myers.
The Mississippi Court of Appeals in March upheld the life sentence given Myers in 2000 for the 1999 shooting death of Tony S. Davis
in Lauderdale County.
Davis' body was discovered by a passing motorist near Paulding Road in Lost Gap on Aug. 26, 1999. An autopsy revealed Davis had been shot several times in the neck and chest.
Authorities say the murder weapon was discovered in a freezer at Myers' brother's home and Myers' fingerprints were found on the gun.
