Uniforms are already on the way for most students in Meridian public schools, but now the teachers and principals will also follow a dress code.
The Meridian School Board voted on a set of dress standards for administrators and teachers throughout the district.
Those include long sleeve shirts and ties for male teachers and administrators and no short skirts for female teachers and administrators.
School officials say the rules will be enforced.
"The principal will have the option to address any teacher or administrator that's not dressed properly," said Robert Markham, Deputy Superintendent of Operations.
The dress code will go into effect for the 2005-2006 school year.
