A local judge has been pushing it for months, but less than two weeks after a courthouse shooting in Atlanta, more security is on the way in Lauderdale County courts.
The Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors voted 4 to 1 Monday to add two security guards on the sixth floor of the courthouse annex.
But everyone is not convinced the added security is necessary here in Meridian.
District 5 Supervisor Ray Boswell has been vocal in his opposition to the need for added security. He was the only supervisor to vote against adding guards for justice court.
