Americorps Helping Community

From tutoring local students, to sanding and painting dormitory doors, Americorps volunteers are giving back to the community.

There are eleven members of Americorps in Decatur. They'll be there for the next five weeks, helping with a variety of jobs on campus. The team members range in age from 18-23, and come from across the country.

Local college officials say the all-volunteer labor really comes in handy in this time of depleting community college budgets.

The team has been traveling across the country this year, doing projects like this one. This will be the team's last assignment for this year.
