Mysterious Death and Attack Investigations

Police in Livingston, Alabama are investigating the death of a three-year-old girl. Around 3:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Chief Ashley Welborn says his officers were called the home of the child's parents. At this time he says a cause of death remains unknown.

"It's extremely early in the investigation. We're not declaring anyone a suspect now. We're just looking at all of the circumstances surrounding the death. Of course, it will be up to the district attorney whether any charges will be filed," said Chief Welborn.

At this time, Chief Welborn says it's unknown when the autopsy results will be available.

Meanwhile, Meridian police are investigating a similar case. It involved the death of a five-year-old. According to Captain Betty Evans, officers responded to the call around 10:46 last Thursday morning. Upon arrival she says the child was found dead. She says preliminary autopsy results could be released within the next few days.

Also under investigation is the case of a Meridian woman who was found left for dead on a street in the capitol city. Tuesday funeral services were held for 35-year-old Sharon Hairston. Last Wednesday she was found left for dead on a Jackson street. Investigators say Hairston died shortly after being found. At this time, no arrests have been made in the case.

Finally on that note, here's an update on the story of a woman who was recently found left for dead near a Meridian church.

On Oct. 12 the unidentified woman was found brutally beaten near St. Joseph's Catholic church. According to investigators the woman is doing fine. For the time being they say she is living outside Meridian.

To date no arrests have been made in this case.
