Interim District 4 supervisor, Laura Sykes, Wednesday endorsed Rickey Harris for the permanent post. Sykes was appointed to the office after her husband, Coach Q.V. Sykes, died this past summer. Laura says Harris would help the area economically.
"I just think Rickey is the one that we need as supervisor for District 4 because he's for economic development," said Mrs. Sykes. "He knows that we need good-paying jobs for Meridian, so that our young people won't have to go away to look for better paying jobs to support their families."
Harris faces Joe Norwood in a runoff election on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
