Two Arrested Outside Sheriffs' Conference

Committing a crime anytime is dumb, much less when there's a law enforcement convention in town.

A Tennessee couple was arrested Tuesday night for alleged drug possession at the Howard Johnson hotel, site of the winter conference of the Mississippi Sheriff's Association.

Larry Gene Brumley and Wanda Jean Brumley were arrested after one of the conference's attendees smelled marijuana and reported it to local authorities.

Larry Brumley is charged with possession of over an ounce of marijuana. Wanda Jean Brumley is charged with possession of schedule two, three, four and five drugs.
