Noxubee County Monday broke ground on a new multi-purpose building on Highway 45, south of Macon.
The $1 million grant for the project came through the Appalachian Regional Commission Office.
It will be 100 percent federally-funded, with the county and municipalities providing the property and site preparation.
The facility will have just over 8,000 square feet for educational, civic and cultural events.
