Meridian's street paving program is not going as smoothly as planned.
Public works director Monty Jackson told the Meridian City Council Tuesday that some areas where problems surfaced have been marked with white paint.
"We are going to have to dig those up or mill them up and put back a fresh layer of asphalt in those areas," Jackson said. "We try to keep those identified so the contractor knows what work he's going to have to be doing."
Jackson said the biggest problem areas are found around manhole risings, as well as some bad joints due to cold asphalt.
