As part of Crime Victims’ Rights Week, the Wesley House placed a bench in front of the Lauderdale County Courthouse.
The bench represents a place of rest for victims of violent crime.
"We wanted something to stand as a monument and a tribute for victims throughout the years," said Ginger Grissom Stevens, "even after we are gone. It reads, 'justice isn't served until the crime victims are.' "
The bench was placed next to The Healing Tree, which the Wesley House planted for Crime Victims’ Rights Week in 2004.
