Tuesday morning 42-year-old Larry Steele entered a guilty plea for the 1999 Christmas murder of Fred Maye.

According to investigators, Maye was shot to death and then left to burn in a vehicle near Wayne County, Mississippi.

Following the guilty plea, Steele was sentenced to life in prison without chance of parole.

Meanwhile, the murder trial of 32-year-old Joseph Oates Junior will continue tomorrow in Circuit Court.

Oates is on trial for the stabbing death of Tad Tucker. The murder occurred last summer outside Gilbertown.

If found guilty Oates could face life in prison.
