Plaintiffs in a civil lawsuit and a news organization are appealing a judge's order that sealed investigators' notes in the 2003 workplace shootings at Lockheed Martin in Meridian.
U.S. Magistrate Alfred Nichols, Jr. signed the order sealing the notes.
Leonard D. Van Slyke, Jr. is a Jackson attorney representing ABC News. He says he has asked U.S. District Judge Tom S. Lee to remove the protective order that keeps the notes confidential.
The plaintiffs say the notes could help prove the claim that Lockheed contributed to a hostile and unsafe workplace.
The company says both sides in the lawsuit agreed to the terms by which material could be protected from the public.
