Polling numbers reported by the Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk's office show the vote tally at 899, or 59 percent, for Joe Norwood to 617, or 41 percent, for Rickey Harris.
The two won the right to be in Tuesday's runoff by leading the voting on Nov. 5.
The District 4 seat was left vacant by the death of Coach Q.V. Sykes
last summer.
Unofficial but complete numbers showed Norwood led in all but one precinct, the Sageville Community Center.
Norwood is expected to be sworn in soon after the Lauderdale County Election Commission certifies the runoff election results.
