Americans are suffering from two serious health concerns that can easily be reversed, according to Ed Thompson with the Centers for Disease Control.
The former state health officer for Mississippi spoke at the University of Mississippi this week, saying Americans need to eat better and kick the nicotine habitat.
"In this country, almost one out of five people are obese. And in Mississippi, it's one out of four people that are obese. People can change the way they eat, exercise and bring their body fat down to a healthy weight," said Dr. Thompson.
Thompson was invited to lecture to dozens of pharmacy students at Ole Miss.
