Gov. Haley Barbour Tuesday released a revised budget for FY '06, citing higher than expected tax collections. It includes more funding for grades K-12.
His proposal would send another $110 million to primary and secondary education than last year and $38 million more than he proposed in a December version of the budget.
Barbour also said there is a set aside of $3.1 million for Mississippi school districts that have experienced unusually high growth in the number of students they serve.
The governor will present his revised budget to legislative leaders in preparation of the upcoming special session.
