Car Hit Utility Pole

A motorist in Meridian ran his car into a utility pole around 2:30 p.m. Monday.

The collision happened at 14th Street and 26th Avenue, near the Central Fire Station. Firefighters respond to motor vehicle crashes and were able to lend assistance quickly.

"The car was southbound on 26th Avenue," said Capt. Jimmy Stockton. "The driver apparently looked away and ran into the pole. Turned his car up on the side."

The driver's name and condition were not immediately available.
