Meridian police have charged a suspect with manslaughter in a weekend shooting.
When police arrived at the home of Bernice Griffin, 76, they found she had been shot.
Fifty-nine-year-old Robert T. Brown was taken into custody at the scene.
"11 o'clock Saturday morning, Meridian police responded to the 1800 block of 33rd Avenue. There they found a Bernice Griffin who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died," said Lt. Dean Harper.
The suspect, Brown, was living with the victim. Brown's bond was set at $10,000.
