The Meridian Downtown Association hosted a welcome home celebration Monday for the soldiers of Lauderdale County and surrounding areas.
It honored all who have served overseas since September 11, 2001.
Motorcyclists participating in the "Ride for the Wall" stopped in Meridian on their way to Washington for Memorial Day. The cyclists laid a wreath at the Veterans Monument at the Lauderdale County Courthouse.
"It restores your faith in America," said John Gana, a retired Navy pilot and participant in the "Ride for the Wall."
A parade to honor troops was followed by live entertainment and a fireworks show.
