Neshoba County Jail Escape

Updated: Thu 7:00 PM, Jun 13, 2002

Authorities in Neshoba County are on the lookout for an 18-year-old Philadelphia man who escaped from the Neshoba County Detention Facility around 10 a.m. Thursday morning.

Jail Administrator Larry Myers says Cornelious Robinson escaped through the break yard during exercise time. He apparently slipped under a fence, then scaled two other fences with barbed wire on top before deputies could catch him. He then escaped into the woods outside the facility.

Myers says Robinson had probably been working to loosen the inside fence for about a week. He also says he believes Robinson is still in the Philadelphia area.

Robinson was behind bars awaiting action from the Neshoba County Grand Jury on four counts of burglary.

Robinson is a 6'1", 150-pound black male. If you have any information on Robinson's whereabouts, you're asked to call the Neshoba County Sheriff's Department or the Philadelphia Police Department.
