The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department is now making accident reports available online.
The public has access to the reports through the Internet without having to make a trip downtown to the Sheriff's Office.
It will save consumers time and money, and help government at the same time.
"This gives us the opportunity to open up information to the public, where they don't have to come here Monday through Friday 8 to 5, but they are able to access it from home as well as insurance companies," said Calhoun. "They're able to access this information for a $5.00 fee for the company that manages the website."
The website address is www.reportbeam.com.
Simply go to the site and select “Public Access” to search for your accident report.
