Going to the public library and checking out a book or two is a routine for many children.
However, the Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library tells Newscenter 11 there is a fairly big interest in "Storyline," better known as the library's story time offered over the telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Officials say the service receives between 9 and 10,000 calls per month.
"Well, we've been doing it now for over 20 some odd years and it's so important for children to learn to read," Margaret Harrison says. "In different studies, it's shown that children that learn to read well do better in school and it also increases their income by some $250,000."
