Prentiss County emergency director Ralph Lauderdale says a plane crash in northeast Mississippi has killed three people.
He tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that the single-engine plane was flying from Andrews, N.C., to Oxford, Miss., when it crashed about 2 p.m. Sunday. He says he cannot release names until family members are notified.
The accident is still under investigation, but Lauderdale says a severe thunderstorm may have contributed to the accident. The crash occurred south of County Road 4111.
