The director of the King's Daughters and Sons Rest Home, Mike Hatten, told the Meridian Rotary Club today that recent tort reform legislation and budgeting are among the biggest issues facing those seeking long-term healthcare.

"Of course, tort reform is always a big front in our industry," said Hatten. "We're grateful for the recent legislation that was passed. And of course the Medicaid budget is always a big issue with our industry and I'm sure the legislature will address."

King's Daughters and Sons is Meridian's only private-pay nursing home, with no assistance from Medicare or Medicaid.
