Students competed Thursday in the district level Junior High Math Competition at Meridian Community College.
Students who placed first, second, and third at their schools advanced to this level.
Those who placed first and second Thursday will go on to the state competition at Holmes Community College in April.
"These test questions are made up of, pretty much, algebra and geometry," said MCC math instructor, Keith Ethridge. "They have a formula sheet and they can use a calculator, but it's pretty advanced level mathematics, especially for seventh and eighth grade students."
This is a list of how students placed in Thursday's district competition:
1st Place - Sarah Wright, Clarkdale, 7th
Brock Williams, Lamar, 8th
2nd Place - Robert Billups, West Lauderdale, 7th
Aaron Ng, West Lauderdale, 8th
3rd Place - Jordan Lowe, Clarkdale, 7th
Daniel May, Northwest, 8th
