Democrats React to Tuck

Democratic Meridian City Councilwoman, Mary Perry, said she is disappointed over the announcement Monday that Lt. Governor Amy Tuck, till now a Democrat, has switched her political party affiliation to the GOP. Perry is former chairperson of the State Democratic Party.

"It's extremely important that loyalty play a large part in our lives. It does not matter whether a person is Democrat or Republican," said Perry. "One should not jump from one side to the other, just because it seems that they are on the losing end."

Current State Democratic Party chairman Rickey Cole says Tuck showed her true colors Tuesday. He says Tuck has a record of duplicity, obstruction, and irresponsibility.
