Children First: Toython 2002

It's time again for WTOK's the annual Toython, in partnership with Wesley House.

WTOK will be live at Super Wal-Mart Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., collecting unwrapped new toys.

The Toython brings in toys to be distributed to needy children for Christmas.

Nell Grissom, the executive director of the Wesley House Community Center, said the Toython is beneficial to the givers as well as the receivers.

"It's just a great affair. That's when we really feel like we get into the Christmas spirit," said Grissom. "Standing out there and collecting those toys as people come, and people bringing their little ones and teaching them the spirit of giving. It's a beautiful occasion, really a two fold blessing."

Toys are also purchased for the children so monetary donations are welcome.
