A Tennessee couple is being held by Holmes County authorities Thursday in the deaths of two people whose bodies were left off a farm road near Cruger, Miss., over the weekend.
Holmes County Sheriff Willie March says 24-year-old Eric Middleton of Jackson, Tenn., turned himself in Wednesday to the sheriff's department.
Middleton has been charged in a Tennessee warrant with two counts of second degree murder in connection with the deaths of 28-year-old Andreca Manning and 54-year-old Bobby Perry at the Jackson, Tenn., home of Mary Thompson, March said.
Thompson, who is Middleton's girlfriend, turned herself in to authorities on Tuesday and is charged in a warrant as an accessory after the fact to murder.
March said both are also charged with tampering with evidence. He said Manning and Perry were killed at Thompson's home on Mar. 14 by Middleton and driven by Middleton and Thompson 200 miles to Holmes County where the bodies were left.
The bodies were discovered by a turkey hunter on Sunday and Perry's car was found Saturday burned in Leflore County.
Middleton and Thompson were being held Thursday at the Holmes-Humphreys Regional Correctional Facility where they are awaiting extradition to Jackson, Tennessee.
