Alarm Donation

Monday Lowe's donated more than 100 fire alarms, 40 fire extinguishers and 12 carbon monoxide detectors to the Meridian Fire Department. Fire Safety Officer Jimmy Hoffer say the donation will be put to good use.

"I know right now I have about 30 people that are asking for carbon monoxide protectors right now. I'm just real excited about the fire extinguishers because we've never been able to afford them!"

Hoffer says the donated alarms and extinguishers will be given to people in need. He says the elderly and handicap will be given special consideration.
