A Brandon man faces charges stemming from a two-vehicle crash that killed a Waynesboro teacher and coach.

Samuel N. Shaw, 56, is charged with culpable manslaughter.

Joseph Henderson "Joey'' Culotta was pronounced dead at University Medical Center early Saturday, Dec. 14, following the collision in Ridgeland. Two passengers in his car were injured.

Police Chief Jimmy Houston said Shaw is free on $100,000 bond. He said Shaw told authorities he "blacked out" at the wheel. Culotta was a Wayne County assistant football coach and head baseball coach.
