Computers Slated for Miss.

Updated: Tue 6:22 PM, Jan 07, 2003

The Beaumont Foundation of America is donating $1.1 million worth of computers to Mississippi schools and organizations in the next 12 months.

It's part of the group's nationwide effort to provide access to information for everyone at any time.

"Governor, first and foremost, the Beaumont Foundation wants to commend you for fulfilling your commitment to get a computer in every classroom," said Mark Sanders, communications director for the Beaumont Foundation. "That historic and ingenious endeavor fits hand in hand with what we are trying to accomplish at the Beaumont Foundation."

"The skills to succeed are developed through education and the people of Mississippi need the best tools to enhance those skills and cross the technological bridge of the 21st century," said Musgrove.

To apply for a computer, visit the Beaumont Foundation's Web site at www.bmtfoundation.com.
