Gov. Haley Barbour plans to sign the onshore gaming bills Monday during a 12:45 ceremony in Biloxi at the WIN Job Center.
House Bill 44 revises a provision regarding tideland leasing, and House Bill 45 will allow gaming establishments located in coastal counties to move onshore 800 feet.
The bills passed both the state House and Senate, but not without opposition. Some lawmakers have been blasted for approving the bills, with opponents seeing it as an endorsement of and extension of gaming.
Others called the passage a safety issue.
