Many customers in Clarke and Wayne Counties are still without phone service because of Hurricane Katrina.
Even though additional crews were brought in from other states, some areas will remain without phone service until at least the middle of November.
"For the people down in Clarke and Wayne County, we are working around the clock with the additional crews to ensure that we get them all back up," said regional manager C.D. Smith.
Officials with Bellsouth say that the damage to these areas was much more extensive than first thought.
Smith said crews have also been hampered by a lack of lodging and numerous other factors.
