NAS Playing Role in Relief

Meridian's Naval Air Station is doing its part to help with disaster relief
made necessary by Hurricane Katrina.

The training area is being turned into a staging location for the emergency management agency.

It will house supply trucks delivering ice, water, and meals ready to eat, or MREs. A hangar has been turned into a hospital.

Officials have been told to prepare to operate for 30 days or more.
