Gulfport School in Session

Military and civilian contractors in Mississippi continued their excavation of Hurricane Katrina damaged areas Monday, as some students headed back to class.

Students at Saint James Catholic School in Gulfport went back to class for the first time since Katrina left devastation in their area.

Many students have been deeply impacted by the storm, but parents and faculty are doing their best to make the transition to rebuilding their lives.

Mississippi officials say the discovery of bodies is slowing, with only one more victim found over the weekend.
