The Christmas fundraiser for Meridian's historic Merrehope and F.W. Williams House are taking on special significance this year.
Hurricane Katrina damaged both houses, and slowed visitation to them, so the Meridian Restorations Foundation is in desperate need of money.
The annual event, "Trees of Christmas," is now in its 37th year. It's the biggest fundraiser of the year for the organization. And because of Katrina, it's even more important this year.
The "Trees of Christmas" will be Nov. 25 and through Dec. 30. You may stop by Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for all admission, except the senior citizen’s price, which is $9.
