Enrollment at the University of West Alabama is now up to an all-time high! So far this fall, more than 3,100 students are enrolled at the university.
This is the first time that UWA's enrollment has peaked above 3,000. Aside from an increase in publicity, university officials credit the increase to more students taking classes on-line.
"We have questions about ultimately in the strategic plan in the future concerning what its role will be because we pride ourselves in being a residential institutional. Now, we're adding another component that's online and it is growing significantly," says UWA President, Dr. Richard Holland.
Currently, UWA has extended its registration period so that displaced students from Hurricane Katrina may also enroll.
