Fire Chief to Retire

Meridian's fire chief is retiring. Chief Tim Miller has only been on the job for about two years, but he's decided to hang up his hat.

Miller has been with the Meridian Fire Department for 23 years. He told Newscenter 11 he plans to retire and take a full-time job with a sporting goods store in town.

Miller was a battalion chief with the department before taking the chief's job in 2003. His retirement goes into effect Nov. 30.
