Congressman Chip Pickering is asking the nation's Attorney General to appeal a recent federal court ruling striking down an Internet porn law he authored.

The law required public libraries to have Internet filtering technology if they took federal funding discounts for the Internet connections.

A federal court in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania struck down parts of the "Children's Internet Protection Act".

Pickering has sent a letter to John Ashcroft, asking him to appeal that decision to a higher court.
