Some roads in Lauderdale County will be receiving a face lift over the next few years.

Monday marked the beginning of a four-year paving project with the overlaying of Minnow Bucket Road.

Each of the five county supervisors has a list of roads to be addressed. Minnow Bucket was first, because it is the dividing line between Districts one and two.

"It is a pleasure to get something started that's been needed to be done for a long time," said District 2 supervisor Wayman Newell. "Minnow Bucket Road is traveled a great deal every morning and these people need to see their taxes being put to use."

Minnow Bucket Road should be completed by Wednesday. The next road to be overlaid has not yet been determined.

Its about time. I just wish that they would widen Minnow Bucket and cut those trees that are so close to the road. I've seen too many people lose their lives because of the narrow road, and countless people have wrecks because of poor visibility.
