MPS Explores Ways to Improve

The quality of education in Meridian public schools is improving, but Superintendent Sylvia Autry says simply improving isn't enough.

Meridian public schools are exploring ways to improve the system's educational performance.

The school system hired Kronley and Associates to assist in reaching its goal of academic excellence.

The consulting firm analyzed the community, the school system, and each individual school to discover what the community wants for its schools.

Kronley and Associates distributed the results of its in-depth analysis, titled "Framing the Future." Robert Kronley says this is a way of putting the school in the community and the community in the school, giving the community a part in the educational excellence of the future.

This is just the first phase of the process. The plan was later presented to the public and board of education at an official meeting.
