As many as 350,000 households are not getting the $300 per child refund owed as part of economic stimulus rebate payments.

The Internal Revenue Service says taxpayers' error and problems with commercial tax preparation software were responsible for the problem affecting a tiny percentage of the 130 million taxpayers expected to benefit from the refunds the government began sending out last month.

IRS spokesman Terry Lemons said the agency is confident it has identified all the people affected by the mistake. He said the IRS will send letters to those who missed out on the refund and that checks for the child credit will be mailed in July.

Lemons said people do not need to contact the IRS or file additional paperwork.

I did not receive the child credit on my rebate , even though I have a six year old. When I finally got thru to the IRS, the woman told me that I did get it, even though I read the information on the back of my letter which cleared showed it was not received. She then transferred me to someone else without my knowledge, who then told me that she was transferring my call again; which brought me back to the original recording. This is after I was on hold for 25 minutes. These people were very rude, some did not speak clear English, and were not helpful in any way.Do they just hire these people to answer the phone? So I never got an answer to my question about Why I didn't receive it,If I was going to receive it, and if it would still be direct deposit or a paper check.I decided not to call again because, its a waste of time, and they are so rude and uninformed. How can I get an intelligent , answer or any answer to my questions?????

I think the stimulus payments can be a good with economy so messed up, but there is a motive behind the money. They should sent them to the people in the mail first.
