Meridian city council members met with redistricting consultants Tuesday for a presentation of proposed new ward lines.
After a number of changes were proposed, Chris Watson, a redistricting consultant, told the council there is a limit in the alterations that could be made.
"There are limited places where we can go to select blocks to achieve deviations that are within the judicially recognized limit of 10 percent," Watson said. "And at the same time keep the previous proportions at the same level as they are."
No final decisions can be made until after a public meeting, which will be scheduled at a later date.
