Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie says authorities are awaiting the results of toxicology tests before determining how a Meridian teenager died this past weekend at a nightclub.
Sollie said he has verified that the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics has the information that the teenager died from a possible drug overdose.
Seventeen-year-old Keon Martyson Smith died Sunday at Rush Foundation Hospital after being transported by ambulance from The End Zone.
Sollie says deputies went to the scene after receiving a call that a person at the club was in distress. An autopsy was ordered.
